Measuring Before Cutting

We measure twice before a single cut gets made. Trim work has almost no room for error, since a gap shows immediately once it's painted.

Coped And Mitered Corners

Inside corners get coped, cut to fit the profile of the adjoining piece, instead of just mitered, since coped joints hold up better as wood expands and contracts with the seasons. Outside corners get mitered for a clean point.

Filling And Sanding

Nail holes get filled with wood filler and sanded flush before paint or stain goes on, so the trim reads as one smooth piece instead of a row of visible nail heads.

Caulking The Gaps

Small gaps between trim and wall get caulked before painting. This is what gives trim that finished, built in look instead of looking like it was tacked on afterward.
